Unlike the first period, the second one of my career was not easy to come. That was not what I’d like to study at first, but I realized later my love for data analysis. The good basis in physics, mathematics, statistics and some experience in R and Python programming during my Ph.D. helped me a lot for the professional retraining to pass through the other side of the door, to move into the Data Science world.

Business Data Analyst @ VietNamTour
This was a contracted mission to collect the client feedback for statistical analysis and pricing study. Handwritten messages from the costumers are recognized by the Python’s Natural Language Tool Kit (“nltk” package), then translated from Vietnamese to English language.
All translated messages were tokenized in the next step, filtered out of stop-words, to finally search for positive, negative or neutral opinions and sentiment from the customers.
The pricing optimization was also studied to update the newest competitive prices, using the Gurobi software.
